Congratulations to the OHS 2023 NHS Inductees who joined the current members last night at the induction ceremony.
We are also very excited to add Mrs; Kila Baum as a paraeducator to fill the position opened by Mr. Garrett Collins joining the teaching staff. Mrs. Baum has been with us for two weeks and has been settling in very well as she provides extra support to students. We feel very blessed to add her to our staff as she is already showing us her skills for work with and connecting with students.
We are very excited to announce that Mrs. Susan Morgan has been hired as the new Admin Asst to the Principal. Mrs. Morgan has been a secretary at OMS for the last two years, and we are pleased to be able to promote her to this position. Mrs. Morgan brings a lot of experience with her beyond her time at OMS, and we feel her personality will be a great fit at OHS.
It is time to say goodbye to Mrs. Collier who has moved into a new role as the district payroll specialist. Mrs. Collier has worked in the OHS office for 14 years and has made a tremendous impact on our students, staff, and families. Although we are sad to see her leave, we are excited for her as she takes on more responsibilities and new challenges with this promotion. Lisa, thank you for everything you have done for all of us.
Please encourage your child to do their at-home reading. The winning 4th & 5th grade classrooms will earn a pizza party donated by Home Slice Pizzeria in Marshall, MI. This challenge runs through through October 31st.
Happy Friday 4th/5th grade hall! Today we are wearing pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month for the month of October. Also, students can bring in $3.00 for cider and donuts as part of the student council fundraiser.
While they deserve to be celebrated every single day, National Custodian Day is the one day on the calendar set aside just for them. That day is today!
The Custodial Team as a part of the Operations Department works tirelessly to keep our facilities looking 'clean and pristine'. While they could be easily mistaken for robots for the work that they do, they are humans that truly care about the staff and students of Olivet Community Schools and strive to do their best each and every day!

This week our students will display their student council posters in their hallways. Friday, students will vote for a President, Vice President, & Treasurer for their grade. Teachers will also nominate 2 class reps per class. Results to come Friday!

Not only did our student do the Fun-Run, they also had an activity hour with the help of 11 University of Olivet students. They helped with supervising fun activities. Best quote from our students, "Are we even at school today?" These memories will last a lifetime. #ocsrocks
Very proud of the hard work and effort given by our fourth and fifth grade students as they did the Fun-Run-A-Thon today. Not only did they get a great workout, but they raised money for two great causes!

Looks like the rain will hold off this morning for the Fun-Run-A-Thon. The grass may be damp, so we encourage students to bring an extra pair of shoes. 5th grade will be at the high school track from 9-10am. 4th grade will be at the track from 10-11am. Families are welcome to cheer on from the stands!

4th/5th grade families, I am excited to announce that we have a new school resource officer (SRO), name Officer Hernandez. If you happen to see him at any of our OCS campuses, please give him a warm welcome. He is assigned to our district for daily duties.
We are so grateful to have Mrs. Lincoln at OMS! She has made it her mission to provide the 4th/5th grade students with an amazing environment and experience each time they visit our library. They may be in the middle school, but they are still elementary students.
