School Board Vacancy
The Olivet Board of Education is accepting applications to fulfill the vacated seats of Mary Barkley and Sarah Scott who resigned effective July 9, 2022 and Becky Frazier who resigned July 12. The successful applicants will fill this vacancy until the next school election scheduled for Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, a US citizen, and a resident of the Olivet school district. Questions regarding the requirements to become a candidate for the November 8, 2022 election should be directed to the Eaton County Clerk’s Office at 517-543-2488. The filing deadline for the election is July 26, 2022.
Applicants interested in serving on the Olivet Board of Education would serve for the minimum timeframe of August 8, 2022 through December 2022. Applicants should complete a Board Application form available in the Superintendent’s Office.
The deadline: Monday, August 1 no later than 12:00 noon. Applications need to be returned to the Superintendent’s Office at 255 First Street, Olivet, MI 49076. Public interviews will be held on Monday, August 8 at 6:30 pm in the Olivet Middle School Library.
School Board Election
November 8, 2022
OCS will have four open Board positions to fill in the November 2022 election. Three of these will be full 6-year terms, one position will be a partial 4-year term due to a vacated seat.
To be on the November ballot, you must complete a school board election packet available at the Eaton County Clerk’s office and return it to the County Clerk by July 26, 2022. Questions regarding the requirements to become a candidate for the November 8, 2022 election should be directed to the Eaton County Clerk’s Office at 517-543-2488.
